It’s not officially Fall yet, but I’m already planning for my favorite season! I was going through some of my old designs and came across this cute caramel apple. Since I hail from the apple state, thought it would be fitting to share this fun pattern, perfect for a fall craft!

Apple DIY Crochet Kit

PRINT PATTERN

Materials

- worsted weight yarn in red and white

- size F/ 3.75 mm crochet hook

- safety pin or stitch marker to mark the start of each row

- 6 mm plastic safety eyes

- pink and light brown felt

- green ribbon

- stuffing

- black, pink, and brown embroidery floss

- needle

Abbreviations

-in American crochet terms-

st = stitch

ch = chain

sc = single crochet

inc = single crochet increase

dec = single crochet decrease

rnd = round

sl st = slip stitch

* * = set of stitches to be repeated

( ) = total number of stitches in a round

rep = repeat

Pattern

Starting with white yarn

rnd 1: ch 2, sc 4 in 2nd ch from the hook (4 st)

rnd 2-15: sc in each st (4 st)

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Apple

Starting with red yarn

rnd 1: ch 2, sc 6 in 2nd ch from the hook (6 st)

rnd 2: in front loops, sc 2 in each st (12 st)

rnd 3: in front loops, *sc 1, inc 2* repeat 4 times (20 st)

rnd 4: *sc 3, inc 1* repeat 5 times (25 st)

rnd 5: *sc 4, inc 1* repeat 5 times (30 st)

rnd 6: *sc 5, inc 1* repeat 5 times (35 st)

rnd 7: *sc 4, inc 1* repeat 7 times (42 st)

rnd 8: *sc 6, inc 1* repeat 6 times (48 st)

rnd 9-11: sc in each st (48 st)

rnd 12: *sc 8, dec 2* repeat 4 times (40 st)

rnds 13-15: sc in each st (40 st)

rnd 16: *sc 6, dec 2* repeat 4 times (32 st)

rnd 17-18: sc in each st (32 st)

Attach on face. Place eyes between rnds 11 and 12. Using a back stitch, cut and sew 2 pink circles for cheeks and embroider mouth. Cut caramel patch from light brown felt and using the back stitch, sew to top of apple. Sew on stick.

rnd 19: *sc 4, dec 2* repeat 4 times (24 st)

rnd 20: *sc 2, dec 2* repeat 4 times (16 st)

rnd 21: *sc 2, dec 1* repeat 4 times, stuff the apple (12 st)

rnd 22: dec 3, stuff, dec 3, skip 1 st, slp st, fasten off and weave in ends

Cut green ribbon and tie around the base of the stick.
